Biography

Web developer by trade, Denis has been directing WebConforme, a web agency specialized in the development of websites and applications that are both accessible to disabled people and compliant to W3C-edicted international open standards and other best practices. After four years as chairman for W3Quebec, he partakes in the foundation of the Coopérative AccessibilitéWeb, for which he has since then been acting as general director and expert.

Challenged by the inequities of the digital divide, he has been acting as chairman of the Board for Communautique, a non-profit association whose mission aims towards the facilitation of technological appropriation by the potentially excluded since 2006. He also participates to the CEDEL, a committee of experts interested in the social repercussions of the online governance project and his co-writer of SGQRI-008, the web accessibility standard put forth by and for the public administrations of the province of Quebec.

Active on the international scene, he is an invited expert to the HTML Working Group of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and many working groups of ISO (International Standards Organization) on questions related to the accessibility and usability of human machine interfaces.
